Moyshen the Gallery is pleased to announce Analytics and Aesthetics, the second solo exhibition in Mexico of emerging artist Josh Rowell, following a 1-month residency in San Miguel de Allende.
Through his practice, British artist Josh Rowell seeks to question the role that the digital world plays in reshaping our current notion of reality. The artist finds different ways to manifest these changes, continually exploring the space between the real and the virtual, fascinated by the way in which these two worlds interact. The artist looks at ways to break down, blur, and sometimes even reaffirm, these boundaries. Analytics and Aesthetics explores the power of information in the 21st century, in a time when the internet is generating pools of data on a scale that has never been seen before. The artist will look at different ways in which certain data can be harnessed and reshaped to create abstract artworks by showcasing work from three different series.
